This work presents the primary ways of detecting discrimination at various scales: a nationally, sector-wide, or within a profession. It is also the first to inventory the results of various studies, including the latest, for a broad range of social groups: women, seniors, LGBTQIA+, ethnic and religious minorities, but also people discriminated against due to their physical appearance. Finally, this work leads the way in proposing a series of measures that go beyond a merely punitive approach to show that discrimination in the workplace is not inevitable and can be combatted.
