L.A. Woman (1971) is considered a testamentary album in which Jim Morrison's death could clearly be foreshadowed. Above all, this record is a distillation of what The Doors are capable of musically: blues, jazz, and poetry blended together to create what can only be described as a great rock album. The energy that emanates from the ten tracks that make up the album largely belies any terminal or morbid interpretation, as do the studio session recordings that have come down to us.
