The artists' touch.

The challenge of this illustrated and wide survey is to consider in depth both material and formal implications of drawing. It is as well an action, the line and delineation using a pencil, pen or brush, as the results from it, a composition on support. Purposes may be various: sketches, studies, a work of art in itself. Drawings are analysed here with a chrono-thematic approach (from the 15th to the 21st century) by studying the graphic research process and the preparatory sequences to which it belongs.
