Chourouk Hriech approaches drawing like a journey through space and time. In her graphic universes, dominated by black and white and ranging from the scale of a sheet of paper to that of an entire wall, she merges cities, contexts, histories, and ruins from the past to create poetic cartographies that are both real and imaginary. Using precise strokes in India ink, gouache, or marker, she depicts urban landscapes and dwellings, intertwining them with the worlds of plants and birds, in expansive all-over compositions reminiscent of contemporary megacities.
