1959. As coffins of young conscripts return in large numbers from Algeria, terrorist attacks escalate across mainland France, orchestrated by the pro-Algerian FLN. Amidst this tense political climate, General de Gaulle is called back to power to resolve the "Algerian crisis" and soon becomes one of the most threatened leaders in the world. For his protection, he relies on just four men – his only bodyguards throughout his presidency – who would become known as the "General’s gorillas."
