Telecommuting as a work arrangement spread slowly among highly qualified employees in specific professions (executives, consultants) before broadening to other professional catégories. It was at first practiced in moderation—rarely more than a day a week—with work and groups remaining anchored to the office. The global health crisis in 2020-2021 and the working from home it entailed turned thing upside down, instilling other habits. Remote work has gone from an occasional practice to a way of life. Drawing on a wide array of recent multiidisciplinary research, this work takes stock of what has emerged from such changes in practice.
