March 2020: first lockdown. Through the lens of her camera, Magali Delporte immortalizes the moments of solidarity among the inhabitants of a Paris apartment project.

When France went into its first lockdown, a strange phenomenon arose in the Paris neighborhood of Belleville-Ménilmontant: We, the 2,000 habitants the Pressoir apartment projects, got to know each other. Confined to indoors, we invented our communal spaces. Improvised concerts, group classes under trees for the kids. Minor acts of solidarity across generational lines. Disagreements, too, of course—just like in a village… And, in the middle of this funny little experiment in living, a kind of urban intentional community under the bell jar of the pandemic, Magali Delporte was right there for it all, a photographer of the people, capturing unique moments that made the Pressoir towers one of Paris' best-kept secrets.
