When France went into its first lockdown, a strange phenomenon arose in the Paris neighborhood of Belleville-Ménilmontant: We, the 2,000 habitants the Pressoir apartment projects, got to know each other. Confined to indoors, we invented our communal spaces. Improvised concerts, group classes under trees for the kids. Minor acts of solidarity across generational lines.
