The Cévennes, 1667. She’s only 16. They call her the "She-Wolf” because of the animal skin she wears, and because she lives alone in the woods. Although she doesn’t speak, she maintains a relationship with other "exiles" who've also fled their villages and past lives to seek refuge in the woods, far from the powers that be. As inhabitants of the nearby valley, tired of increasingly ruthless taxes and the tyranny of soldiers, flock to the forest in turn, the state launches a logging company.
The very existence of this free and wild forest, as well as the exiles’ way of life, are in peril. Led by the She-Wolf, they fully intend to fight for their freedom.
