Not every criminal is a monster. But are we prepared to accept that?

Éléonore Hourdel is a psychiatrist in a unit for difficult patients. She just took in a new one: a delusional and undocumented man unfit for police custody who inexplicably pushed someone onto the railroad tracks, claiming to be "fleeing from worms". Fifty kilometers away, Captain Sharko and his team discover the body of Denis Liénard in his home, stabbed multiple times in the stomach with a screwdriver. No fingerprints and no traces of DNA are found in the house, not even the victim’s. The police, however, do find his daughter: none other than Éléonore Hourdel. But the mystery deepens when she claims that the victim is... not her father!
