On her way to school, Gwen is hit by a lorry. Her mother saves her by exchanging her own life for another, thus linking her daughter to a demon who is both enticing and unbearable. Gwen hails from the bloodline of Avalon, whose women are the guardians of Excalibur. Since her mother's death, she has become its new guardian. A terrible creature will do anything to get a hold of the legendary sword, but the demon is ready to help her in her quest, without revealing anything about his true identity.
