As an oceanographer, photographer, filmmaker, journalist, and essayist, Anita Conti spent her whole life trying to uncover the mysteries of the ocean, from Newfoundland to the Mauritanian coasts, from the Adriatic to the Barents Sea. Her early passion turned into a fight for the environment. As early as the 1930s, she raised the alarm about the dangers of sea pollution and overfishing. Thirty years later, she tried to provide a solution by becoming a pioneer in aquaculture.
