This book consists of four parts: both classic and lesser known trails from the Camino de Santiago itineraries first in France, then in Spain and Portugal. Next, this book presents a selectin of hikes based on other ancient pilgrimages. These share a certain atmosphere with that of Santiago, and are of comparable natural, cultural, and spiritual interest. Lastly, many often more recent trails are part of this general tradition, following as they do in the footsteps of some historical figure (often but not only saints) or the discovery of history and the human and natural heritage of a region.
