Bags have been our constant companions in all our roamings. Making their first appearance as purses in the Middle Ages, they have evolved into many forms today, including that universal accessory, the backpack. Trash bags—true products of consumption—also play a major role in our daily lives. Not to mention plastic grocery bags, banned in Bangladesh since 1900 (but only since 2017 in France), replaced by the tote bags that now accompany us everywhere. Might we have too many bags?
