Mary's future seems all laid out. She's just turned thirty and will take over her father's position as CEO of the family business. When she finds out she's just inherited a cottage in Finland, she sees a chance to give herself a magical vacation. But little does she suspect that one final trial awaits her there. The cottage has been reduced to a mere hut inhabited by a domesticated reindeer and parrot, with an abandoned shop right beside it. Her father cuts her off and gives her an ultimatum: prove that she is worthy to be his successor by rebuilding her great-aunt's shop on her own.
