A Revolutionnary Feminist at Work

Behind the Scenes at the Renault Factory in Flins
Age Adults
Feminist, activist, protester, intellectual, Fabienne Lauret joined France's largest Renault plant to keep the spirit of May '68 alive among workers.

They were called "établis": May '68 protesters who "established" a presence in factories after May '68 in order to organize workers. Fabienne Lauret was one such, and began working the Renault factory in Flins on May 3, 1972.
As with many of the établis, Lauret's commitment to the workers' cause soon came to define the trajectory of her entire life. She spent over 36 years in the garments deprtment and serving on the factory's works council, a shop-floor organization representing laborers.
This graphic novel is provides an intimate and individual, yet also sociological and historical perspective at a time when closure threatens the Renault Flins plant.
