In these interviews, women past and present, famous or obscure, tell us about their careers, research, and discoveries, but also about the difficulties they've had to face, often for no other reason than being a woman in a man’s world.
While some of these women have gone down in history, such as Irène Joliot-Curie for her work on radioactivity, most of them never got that chance. The goal of this book is to show that women have always been contributing to every field of science, and that their role was and continues to be a significant one. The book also sheds light on the social and cultural conditions of educating women in the sciences in their respective eras.
