Global society is causing more and more diseases while spending ever more to try and treat them. The solution to this contradiction is that the environmental, behavioral, and physiological dangers behind these conditions are results of economic growth. The logic of supply is simple and its rationale economic: companies sell risks or propagate them to produce more for less. The logic of demand is more complex and diversified: we expose ourselves to risks or consume them out of necessity, error, or carelessness, addiction or despair.
