Love and friendship and two positive relationships of trust. True friendship and love do us good, not harm. We don't hurt or attack others out of friendship or love. In love and friendship, we can't lie or pretend. In being friends or lovers, we each discover a part of ourselves in our partners, trusting without fear of judgment.
