Zola, a young woman of Congolese descent, runs a literary café in Paris, where she also displays clothes she designs. Everything changes the day her friend Maurine, a cultural journalist, tells her that her boyfriend got engaged in Ivory Coast, as part of an arrangement between two important local families. Zola is devastated. But Maurine also reveals to her that she will have the opportunity to show her creations to the fashion world, because she has been selected for the next Fashion Week in Johannesburg!
