In a version of the present day where an app lets memories be digitized and auctioned, Gabriel, an amateur radio programmer and hopeless romantic, falls for an audience member at the memory of a 1942 performance of Phaedra. Eager to discover her identity at all costs, he sinks further into the past, exploring the Roaring Twenties, and finds out that she is the famous cellist Oriane Devancière. His passion for her soon becomes all-consuming. Gabriel's brother, a fashionable producer, sees him missing out on his own life, so he introduces Gabriel to Rose, an actress born in a fringe California community who went on to star in a Broadway musical. But yet another revelation is in the offing…
