Berlin, 1945: two Jewish orphans, refugees, become East-German citizens and, a few years later, Stasi agents. The elder, Konrad, is sent to West Germany as a sleeper agent while the younger, Andreas, stays behind in East Germany. They do not see each other again for 12 years… Until the historic football match in 1974 between East Germany (GDR) and West Germany (FRG) in Hamburg, where Andreas confides in Konrad his doubts and his desire to defect.
