Yzé, a young 17-year-old West Indian girl, dreams of becoming a ballerina, like her role-model Misty Copeland.

Believing everything that matters happens in France, Yzé dreams about the Paris Opera and longs to escape her island home. Jumping at her first opportunity, she wins a competition and is soon flying to Paris, the capital of dance, there to take courses with famous teachers. But nothing unfolds as Yzé expects. Soon, between racism and betrayals from her classmates, she feels lonelier than ever. She also never expected to meet Michael, a seriously ill young dancer who who will upend her plans and her vision of dance and life.
