The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris is organizing a retrospective that showcases Yves Saint Laurent’s designs side-by-side with works from the collections of five major Parisian institutions. Yves Saint Laurent drew on art history to bring out color and rethink the structure of clothing. Here, his androgynous silhouettes and Proust-inspired dresses join Manet's Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe, his feather designs meet Jackson Pollock’s drip art, and the patterns of his coats are set against Matisse’s Dance.
