Let's save the forests to save ourselves!

Did you know that even trees suffer countless aggressions and stressors over the course of their long lives? They fight off destructive insects, pathogenic microbes, and competing or parasitical plants. Forests, too, suffer from catastrophic changes to the climate and environment caused by human activity: heat waves, storms, tornados, chronic drought, emergent diseases, and overuse. In order to survive, trees deploy sophisticated defense mechanisms. And sometimes, in order to adapt to an uncertain future, foress have no choice but to begin a slow migration.
