Everyone must obey the rules of a totalitarian state. Authorities have a monopoly on the sale of fruit, vegetables, and all other foods. Growing a garden is forbidden, and raising chickens an offense worthy of arrest. Away from prying eyes, Marius and his son Clovis grow a tomato plant in utter secrecy.
