Fundamentalist followers of opposing diets clash in the streets during violent demonstrations. For holidays, shop on black market, join in the revels of secret societies--but beware the points on your eating license! In Provence during a heat wave, a food inspector looks into the murder of a young chef. Meanwhile, a former soldier with a dark past fights to save his gourmet restaurant and reconcile with his daughter, whose farm is also threatened. When all this leads back to the murdered chef, both men try to assess the seriousness of the threat they face.
