According to an American study, 80% of medications withdrawn from the market between 1997 and 2001 caused more problems for women than men. In Germany, a 2008 report showed that in hospitals, women had a 50% greater chance of running afoul of a drug's side effects than men. In other countries too, the question of why women suffer from side effects more often than men has also cropped up. Why do French women so often find themselves on the frontline when it comes to pharmceutical scandals? Why hasn't anyone said anything?
