Fourteen months ago, Emma's fiancé Roald Hodges of the National Geographic Society boarded the Kinship bound for Norway, and since then… not a word. She regularly interrogates other club members, in vain. Before leaving, Roald gave Emma a mysterious envelope, to be opened only if anything bad happened to him. In denial, she decides to leave everything –life, luxury, and home– behind and go to Lapland in search of him. On the way, she will gradually shed all her certainties… Far more than a search for a missing fiancé, Emma is about to experience a genuine quest of self-discovery.
