Isn't it about time we freed ourselves from gender?

Although sociologists have extensively studied gender in order to reveal power structures, brandishing it at every opportunity has paradoxically reinforced the idea that men and women are not individuals but first and foremost representatives of their sex. In the name of distinctions wrongly thought of as natural, we are assigned roles that are specific, stereotypical, and unequal.
