The authors of this book do not just defend same-sex marriage and same-sex parenthood. They show that the debate can be seen in an entirely different light when the family institution is put into its historical context, and when we stop reducing gender distinction simply to relationships with the opposite sex. Same-sex parenting reveals much about the strains and contradictions of the current French law on adoption and medically assisted procreation, inciting us to adapt and improve on the current model, for the sake of all families.
