Yellow is the New Black

Confronting Anti-Asian Racism in France (c'est le sous-titre que l'éditeur a mis sur son site)
Author Ya-Han Chuang
Publisher La Découverte
GENRE Sociology
This book invites readers to confront the patchwork reality of French society through the experiences of Asians living in France.

Using research collected over the last decade, this work traces the migrational and political trajectories of Asian populations in France, from a Belleville grocery store to an Aubervilliers wholesaler, from nail salons to basements dressmaking workshops. These are the stories of young French people mobilizing both in the streets and on social networks to denounce racism, unafraid to show the color of their skin and self-identify as "yellow".
A sociologist and a researcher at the National Institute of Demographic Studies (INED), Ya-Han Chuang specializes in the movements and political participation of Chinese populations in France.
