A seminal 20th-century architect, Le Corbusier left a lasting mark on modern design, architecture, and urban planning through his numerous internationally recognized projects, such as the Villa Savoye near Paris and the Cité radieuse in Marseille. A champion of "rational" housing, he also worked with Charlotte Perriand on designing a line of furniture where function reigned.
