Every year, Ernest and his parents vacation midsummer in their family home in the north of France. But this time, Ernest finds Arezu and her father living in his room there. Arezu's father is sick, very weak. They had to stop on their long journey from Kabul to Calais, and the empty house gave him time to recover. Without thinking twice, Ernest and his parents give them clothes, food, medical care. Ernest is captivated by Arezu’s green eyes and, to his surprise, soon realizes he watches for her sparkling smile every day. Yet he knows that one day soon they will leave. And to continue their journey, they’ll need help.
